Emergency Broadband Benefit Program - Now Live

On April 29, 2021, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program) will launch on May 12, 2021. At this time, consumers can apply for the program through the National Verifier at .

What is the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program?

The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly broadband bills for qualifying low-income households. If your household is eligible, you can receive:

  • Up to a $50/month discount on your broadband service and associated equipment rentals
  • Up to a $75/month discount if your household is on qualifying Tribal lands
  • A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50)

Only one monthly service discount and one device discount is allowed per household.  Please note that all broadband providers will NOT offer the Emergency Broadband Benefit.  The Companies Near Me Tool is now online and consumers can use the tool to see options available in your area.

Since all Webster Parish Schools participate in the Community Eligibility Provision(CEP) program, households that have a student that is currently enrolled in a Webster Parish School should qualify for the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program once it is launched.  We highly recommend that all households do what they can to acquire a high speed internet connection and take advantage of this new program if it is available in your area.
