Dear Webster Parish School Families,

As we experience life during this unprecedented time, we want you to know the Webster Parish School System is here to serve you.  The interests of our students as well as our employees have been kept in the forefront of our minds as decisions have been made.  We express our sincere gratitude for your patience and understanding as we had to change our mode of operations.  Although the future may seem uncertain, you have our assurance we will work diligently to provide the best possible educational opportunities for ALL of our students. 

Reconnect Webster 2020 is the Webster Parish School Board’s plan for addressing the opening of school in Webster Parish for the 2020-21 school year.  This document is the culmination of countless hours of work and preparation by many individuals; however, I would like to specifically thank the work of our Academic Planning Committee which served as the driving force behind its completion.  This committee was composed of Elementary Supervisor Oreata Banks, Special Education Supervisor Melanie Jacobs, Secondary Supervisor Linda Hudson, Curriculum and Instruction Supervisor Dusty Rowland, and Federal Programs Director Yolanda Palmer.  I greatly appreciate their passion and caring for the students of Webster Parish that was displayed in the development of this plan!

As previously mentioned, Reconnect Webster 2020 is a comprehensive plan that serves as a guide for the general operation of our schools as well as an explanation for how our diverse curricula will be presented to our students.  It is an open ended document that is designed to be altered as circumstances change or new directives are given.  During planning, no detail was considered too small, and I am convinced Reconnect Webster 2020 will serve as an outstanding guide for ALL of our stakeholders. 

In the days to come, we will continue to face obstacles and challenges, but we are a strong and resilient community.  If we all work together, we may find that in the end we are all the better for it!
