The Webster Parish School Board is very pleased to announce that several of our schools are about to take part in a special, parent and family-engagement reading event. Soon students will receive a copy of this year’s “chosen” book to read at home with their family and at their schools.
The power of reading together builds a community of readers, increases parental involvement, and bridges the home to school connection to cultivate the students’ learning and success.
Our “One District, One Book” initiative” will officially kick-off with activities at the following schools:
Monday, January 8th-North Webster Elementary School and E.S. Richardson Elementary School
Tuesday, January 9th-J.L. Jones Elementary School and Webster Junior High School
Wednesday, January 10th-Brown Upper Elementary School and Browning Elementary School
Thursday, January 11th-North Webster Lower Elementary
Friday, January 12th-Central Elementary School, J.A. Phillips Elementary School, North Webster Junior High School, and Doyline High School
Please be on the lookout for announcements from your child’s school(s) for a schedule of time and list of activities. There is excitement in the air... 2024 is here and Webster Parish Schools are ready to start the year by bridging parent and school engagement by encouraging reading and literacy!
